Nakshi Kantha is one type of thin blanket made of full cotton. This is usually made of used cloth e.g., saree. This is the only means of earning for some rural woman. The designs are unique that tells the happiness, sorrow, pain of their life through colorful stitches on Nakshi Kantha. This is the traditional folk art that has been carried out generation by generation. This nakshi kantha is very attractive in designs as show piece. Pottery is an ancient occupation when all the cooking utensils, water vessels are made of clays. A special type of gummy clay was used to make such utensils. First, the clays were placed on a moving wheel that made of wood with special tactics and continuously rotate hands on clays to give the desired shape. After it gets the shape then this fresh clay items are fried in fire that gives it durability and makes it usable. You can still find this art in South-east Asia. 29th April 1991, was a catastrophic night for the coastal people in Bangladesh. The devastating super storm expends more than 150000 people. The maximum wind speed was 250 km/hr. There was at least 20 feet storm surge inland that caused the major damage.
