Some ways to secure your Windows 8 PC.

As Windows 8 is built upon UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface), you can take advantage of secure boot; scan and ensure that system elements are okay before Windows 8 even boots on your system.

Yes as usual you can set a PIN/Password to login into the PC
You can also set a picture password. You need to select a picture, draw some gestures on the picture for Windows 8 to store. You need to make the same/similar gesture at login time. You can do this from PC settings->user : follow the rest

You can install windows defender to protect your PC from Malware and Spyware
From start screen type defender, you will find the application. If it is disabled, you may need to remove the other antivirus software first, then activate it, and then again reinstall the other antivirus software

Firewall is always there to protect your pc from unwanted access from outside. You can define rules for private network and public network. Public network settings should be more strict. You can configure to block all incoming request; or you can configure for notification for all incoming access requests and then allow individually. Turn on Firewall.

Use Action Center as can be seen in the control panel to check the security settings and also to change.
Configure ‘User Account Control Settings’ as can be seen under Action Center. Use the most strict settings so that you get notifications for all changes in your system. Move around the action Center and configure appropriately such as checking alerts, checking system notifications, checking and administering archived messages, configuring what to do with unrecognized apps and similar.

Use the privacy settings; you may configure not to allow to access your location information. You may only allow selectively. Use PC Settings->Privacy.

Load Balancing with CISCO Routers:
What is load balancing?
Simply, distributing the traffic across multiple different paths/destinations. The definition is context-specific as well. For example, if you provide a web-service, you can use multiple servers to provide the service. Then for you, load balancing can be simply distributing the incoming service request across these servers (than just to one server). For the network operators (say the internet operators), load balancing can be distributing the network traffic across multiple paths so that some paths are not congested (traffic is even across the internet backbone).

• If you go through an undergraduate program in Computer Science, you will know the theory behind most of the protocols as will be named in the resources. If you go through the materials for Cisco certifications, you will know the IOS commands to deal/interact with the protocols (configure the protocols in real life situations).
• Universities may not give you an opportunity in your undergraduate program to deal with real-life routers, and play with the routing protocols. If they would (even as an extra facility not part of your courses) that could be something very useful for your career (esp. when network/telecommunications oriented) (could even make you more interested in networking/inter-networking careers).
• However, universities may teach you writing prototype network software, network protocols, and components for network operating systems. Universities will also teach you the graph theory, queuing theory, and analysis of network protocols. These are must know to write routing/networking protocols. The people who write the network operating systems, and/or network/routing protocols are mostly from theoretical (university) backgrounds. Even if your interests are to implement routing logic in hardware, and designing and implementing routers, university education (in Comp. Eng.) will be of more help than Cisco Certification materials (knowing these CCNA/CCNP materials will always be a plus)
• (Limited Opportunities): If your intentions are to come up with new and better routing protocols, improve the efficiency of the existing protocols, and even discover new routing protocols for newer computing platforms (such as Sensor Networks, Zigbee, VOIP, and similar), you will mostly require to go through research based Masters and PhD programs in Computer Networking and related [In another word, graduate studies (in networking) focus on these (Improving existing protocols, network standards, inter-networking standards, data transfer methods, routing. Also, discovering new protocols, network standards, inter-networking standards, data transfer methods, routing, and related].

I might have seen another SQL to change values in cscart_settings tables to disable ssl. This approach might work for earlier versions. On 4.4.1 cscart_settings table is non-existent

yes, I tried this successfully on Ubuntu platform and with real domain names.

For local Vagrant env, experienced some issues, did not try to resolve – kept it for a later time – I really did not need it for local – though will try to fix at one point (related to DNS issue, a local DNS setup or using /etc/hosts might work )
