To verify and ensure the quality of Laptops, laptop manufacturers conduct many different tests. Here, I will mention some of the common tests

  • Daily use tests: Laptops are used in the day to day situations including stress situations of day to day use. Using these tests, the durability and performance of laptops are determined in day to day use operations.
  • Low temperature test: Laptops are used in low temperatures and the performance is studied. Laptops are stored in low temperatures and performance are studied in later usage of the laptops.
  • High temperature test: Laptops are used in high temperatures and the performance is studied. Tolerable highest temperatures are determined.
  • Lifespan test: Tests are conducted to determine the lifespan of the laptop. Continuous non stop testing for a long period such as six weeks may be performed to determine the reliability of the laptop
  • Shock test: Durability is tested against accidental dropping of laptops. Operating in vibrating situations are also simulated.
  • Pogo test: Effect of force on the LCD back is also studied.
  • Torsion test : Durability against twist and flex forces is tested
  • Battery drain test: Tests are done to determine how long the battery can last when charged fully.
