Amphibian metamorphosis is habitual change from aquatic habitat to terrestrial habitat. Morphological, physiological and behaviourial changes are observed during metamorphosis. This changes are controlled by specific hormones like thyroxine(T4) and triiodothyroxnine(T3).usually metamorphosis occur by cell growth, cell death, remodeling of organs and respecification. If there is removal or absent of anyone of the hormone, metamorphosis will be absent in the organisms. Growth of limbs, nictating membrane, new neurons, etc occurs while death by degeneration of tail, gills is phenomenon in their metamorphosis. From: http://sitestree.com/?p=757
