Tried as follows and worked<\/strong><\/p>\n

>> sudo fdisk -l
\nDisk \/dev\/xvdb: ….<\/p>\n

Then format
\n>> sudo mkfs -t ext4 \/dev\/xvdf<\/p>\n

Create mount dir
\n>>mkdir \/mnt<\/p>\n

you can mount now
\n>>sudo mount \/dev\/xvdb \/mnt<\/p>\n

Check if it has been mounted correctly with:
\n>>mount -l
\n\/dev\/xvdb on \/mnt type ext4 (rw)<\/p>\n

mount automatically – this will be there – nothing to do
\n>>sudo vim \/etc\/fstab<\/p>\n

this will be there – nothing to do if not add this:
\n\/dev\/xvdf \/mnt1 auto defaults,nobootwait 0 0<\/p>\n

BTW by some reason AWS Console shows \/dev\/xvdf as \/dev\/sdf From: http:\/\/sitestree.com\/?p=4450
